ANNANIAS REHABILITATION CENTER

Caritas Pakistan Lahore is running a Center named Annanias Rehabilitation center for Visually Impaired Females since October 27, 1998 to rehabilitate special children as normal human being in the society. This center is situated at D-Block Youhanabad near St. Xavier Seminary, Lahore.

The following facilities are being provided to these special children;

Formal education (primary level)
Vocational trainings (Decoration pieces, paper bags and jewelry making with pearls etc.)
Braille literacy education (basic Braille writing & reading)
Daily living skills training (kitchen, bedrooms, bath room & other household affairs management.
Independent mobility & orientation training (use of white cane, ascending & descending, room exploration, self-protection, searching methods etc.)
Motivation to get further formal education
Education about selfcare, personal grooming & gender issues

EMPOWER WOMEN THROUGH SKILL DEVELOPMENT

(November 2022 – June 2023)

By assessing the pressing need and with the guidance of His Grace Archbishop Sebastian Francis Shaw OFM, we started this project to equip marginalized females of underprivileged and deprived rural areas.

Vocational training in different skills are being taught to learn and then earn their livelihood with dignity. Along with skill training, they will also be aware family life, how to defend their faith, self-motivation and how to start their own business for better livelihood earning.

Goal of the Project

To empower women through skill development and promotion of entrepreneurship skills

RESTORATION OF THE DIGNITY OF BRICK KILN WORKERS AND PROMOTE EDUCATION

Pakistan is facing a serious challenge to ensure all children, particularly the most disadvantaged to attend, stay and learn in school. An estimated 22.8 million children aged 5-16 are out-of-school. The situation at Brick Kiln are worse as there is no facility of education and children are bond to work their families. CPL has initiated this project to provide quality education facility at the doorstep through non formal education, which is an alternative approach to formal primary education.

Project Goal

Restoration of the dignity of brick kiln workers through promoting education and skills

Objectives

To Create Awareness about the importance of Education and community role
To provide Basic education to at least 150 children through Non Formal Education within a year

RESTORATION OF VISION OF MARGINALIZED PEOPLE OF ARCHDIOCESE OF LAHORE

Eyesight is one of the most important senses: 80% of what we perceive comes through our sense of sight. By protecting our eyes, we will reduce the odds of blindness and vision loss while also staying on top of any developing eye diseases such as cataracts and glaucoma.

The need of this project was highlighted by community, while we were working with flood prone areas of Archdiocese of Lahore for disaster preparedness. When we tried to find Person with Disability Community member reported that there are many persons who have eye issue and the issue is getting worse for them. So we organize eye care camps in two communities of district Sialkot.
So, assessing the dire need, this project was initiated for caring eye in remote poor
socio economic areas. This project will contribute for creating awareness, how to care their important part of their body as eye is the lamp of their body. Afterwards they should take appropriate initiative to care and treatment for better vision.
