Caritas Pakistan Hyderabad is the diocesan unit of Caritas Pakistan which is a non-political, non-profit development organization covering all districts of Sindh since 1990 with the exception of Karachi. Caritas Pakistan Hyderabad operates within the same boundaries as the Catholic Diocese of Hyderabad.
Caritas Pakistan Hyderabad is one of seven diocesan units of Caritas functioning in Pakistan and its working areas encompass the Catholic Diocese of Hyderabad. Caritas Pakistan Hyderabad is the ‘social arm of the Catholic Church’ and it operates on the mandate given to it by the Catholic Bishops Conference of Pakistan.
Caritas provides assistance to the poor, the vulnerable and the excluded on behalf of a billion Catholics around the world. Caritas works on humanitarian emergencies, human development, and on campaigning against poverty, exclusion, intolerance and discrimination.
Caritas Pakistan Hyderabad envisions a world transformed by the love of God as manifested in Jesus Christ that brings about justice, peace and development for all. It seeks to realize this vision by carrying out its mission of working with disadvantaged people for their dignity and progress through relief and development programmes.
