TOT on Search, Rescue and First Aid Training

Caritas Pakistan Multan (CPM) organized a three-day Search, Rescue and First Aid Training from 21–23 August 2026 at the CPM Office, Multan. The training was conducted by Mr. Zahid and Mr. Imran from Rescue 1122 and focused on strengthening participants’ practical skills in emergency response, including first aid, bleeding control, search techniques, CPR, and fire safety. The training brought together staff members from each Caritas Pakistan diocesan office, along with students, teachers, and community members from Multan. During the technical sessions, Mr. Zahid provided practical guidance on first aid, bleeding control, and search techniques, while Mr. Imran conducted a hands-on CPR session. Participants practiced CPR under supervision and also received practical training on the safe use of fire extinguishers. The interactive approach allowed participants to strengthen their confidence and understanding of basic emergency response procedures. Following the technical training, Mr. Mukhtar Gill facilitated a diocesan group exercise to develop one-year Search, Rescue and First Aid action plans. Each group identified priority areas, planned activities, and target audiences for implementation in its respective diocese. The training strengthened participants’ capacity to respond to basic emergencies and promoted a culture of preparedness within Caritas Pakistan and the communities it serves. As a follow-up, each diocese will implement its developed action plan to further promote search, rescue, first aid, and emergency preparedness at the community level
