Caritas Pakistan Karachi Organizes Free Medical Camp for Flood-Affected Families in Mir Khan Goth and Holy Mary Goth

Caritas Pakistan Karachi, the humanitarian arm of the Catholic Church in Pakistan, under its Pakistan Flood Response, organized a Free Mobile Medical Camp for flood-affected and vulnerable families in Mir Khan Goth and Holy Mary Goth, areas of St. Michael’s Parish in the Archdiocese of Karachi. A total of 153 patients benefited from the medical services  including 28 men, 39 women, and 83 children. Dr. Sadiq Masih, supported by a team of dedicated paramedical staff, examined all patients, provided medical consultations, and distributed free medicines as per individual health needs.

One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Ejaz Bhatti, expressed his appreciation, stating:

“We deeply appreciate Caritas for organizing this Free Medical Camp in our parish areas of Mir Khan Goth and Holy Mary Goth. Their commitment to providing curative health services and free medicines to families affected by the recent monsoon rains and urban flooding is truly commendable.”

Mr. Mansha Noor, Executive Secretary of Caritas Pakistan Karachi, emphasized the purpose and impact of the initiative:

“The aim of today’s Free Mobile Medical Camp was to raise health awareness and provide essential curative care to marginalized and flood-affected families. Caritas remains committed to ensuring that vulnerable communities receive accessible healthcare services.”

Mr. Mansha Noor also extended his appreciation to Dr. Sadiq Masih, the paramedical staff, and the Caritas field team including Mr. Javed Iqbal (Social Mobilizer), Mr. Saleem Daleep, and dedicated volunteers for their commitment, coordination, and service in successfully organizing the medical camp.

Caritas Pakistan Karachi Distributes Hygiene Kits Among Flood-Affected Families

Caritas Pakistan Karachi, distributed hygiene kits and conducted Health and Hygiene Awareness Sessions on October 9–10, 2025, at Pehli Nali Village, Gahro, and Shahbaz Goth in St. Thomas’s Parish, Archdiocese of Karachi.

Mr. Sarfraz Anwar, Diocesan Project Officer, guided community members on personal hygiene practices such as daily bathing and regular tooth brushing, especially after meals and before bedtime, to prevent dental and skin diseases.

Mr. Mansha Noor highlighted the health risks caused by poor sanitation and unsafe water, noting that around 53,000 Pakistani children under five die each year from diarrhea. He emphasized that good hygiene is vital for protecting families and preventing illness.
