World Environment Day celebrated across country

Caritas Pakistan teams observed world environment day on 5 June with tree plantations, prayers and awareness sessions in different cities.

In Rawalpindi, the diocesan office celebrated the day in line with the one million more tree plantation campaign of Caritas Pakistan. Mr Amjad Gulzar executive director CP along with executive secretary CPIR Kamran sattar and staff commemorated the day with plantation of tree at CPIR office.

In Lahore, Caritas team celebrated World Environment Day at Annanias Rehabilitation center for Visually Impaired Females in Youhanabad. Mr. Naeem Naz (Diocesan Program Coordinator) highlighted theme of this year “celebrate biodiversity” and history of the day. Mr. Khurram led the participants in recitation of the Laudato Si’ prayer. Afterwards, trees were also planted in the compound of the center.

In District Khushab and Sargodha, Mehnaz Munir CPIR district project officer of Livelihood program held an awareness session with farmers on caring for Earth.
