More than 20 participants from seven dioceses attended a webinar on Communication and Report Writing organized on Feb. 11 by Communication and Publication unit of Caritas Pakistan National Secretariat.

In his welcome note, Mr. Amjad Gulzar Executive Director highlighted the importance of reporting Caritas Pakistan activities.

“2020 was an exceptionally difficult year with the world in virus crisis. Keeping in view the changing trends, the webinar aims at improving our reports, social media channels and publications as well as the need of highlighting our efforts more effectively,” he said.

“Effective and timely documentation of the progress of our programs is very crucial for fund raising. Our work on field should bring development and peace in communities.”

The speakers explained different reporting mechanisms of Caritas Pakistan. Mr. Nadeem Yousaf national humanitarian coordinator explained about sharing updates during Emergencies, Mr. Amir Irfan Livelihood and Food security coordinator briefed on reporting Development Projects while Mr. Amer Anwar (National Coordinator – WASH & Social Harmony Program) shared about Micro Projects.

The sessions concluded with question answer session and live editing by Kamran Chaudhry Communication Officer who incorporated inputs from the participants.

“When the Covid-19 pandemic forced the closure of churches last March, many priests were forced to train in social media and take their parishes online by celebrating Masses on Facebook Live and initiating WhatsApp groups. Caritas Pakistan also revived its YouTube channel last year. Informative stories can educate our readers as well improve our image,” he said.
