Safe drinking water distributed among flood affected

Caritas Pakistan Karachi distributed 100 water bottles among the people affected by urban flooding in Sadaq Nagar and Kousar Niazai area of St. Philips and St. Jude’s Parish. The 6-liter bottles were distributed on July 28 under Emergency Response Program.

The support was extended after emergency response team of Caritas Pakistan visited the affected areas and observed the situation. CPK is in close contact with the DMC members and the volunteers to gather latest updates. “The recent third spell of monsoon rain has battered Karachi with majority of the city being flooded with water. Regrettably, the people are forced to deal with it on their own as no concrete steps are taken by the relevant authorities to mend the deplorable condition of the city,” said Mr. Mansha Noor Executive Secretary CPK.

“The Gujar Nallah was over flooded and five feet of deluge swept away their belongings. It is hard to stay in the houses stinking with drain water and mud. People are forced to stay outside.”
