Nutrition baskets, psychological kits for children in Rawalpindi

Caritas Pakistan Islamabad-Rawalpindi distributed nutrition baskets and psychological support playing educational kits among 23 children. The Covid 19 response program was held on July 2 at St. Joseph Cathedral Rawalpindi.

Archbishop Dr Joseph Arshad was the chief guest along with Fr. Anthan Ilyas and Fr. Sagar as special guests. In his address, Mr. Kamran Sattar Executive Secretary CPIR shared educational and entertaining activities with homebound children amid the virus outbreak. Bishop Joseph Arshad blessed the children and appreciated Caritas for its work.

Schools countrywide have closed in response to COVID-19 pandemic that has affected 234,509 people in Pakistan with 4,839 deaths.

“The parents must support their kids’ developmental needs and understanding of the coronavirus. Honest and accurate discussion with children about COVID-19 can help them understand what’s happening, relieve some of their fears, make them feel safe and help them begin to cope,” said Mr. Kamran Sattar.
