International Women’s Day 2017( Be Bold for Change )

Caritas Pakistan National Secretariat Lahore celebrated International women’s day. More than 40 men and women from different walks of life attended this celebration to mark the special day of women.
Caritas Pakistan aims at empowering women and provide them platform where they can listen, share and talk on the issues they are forcing and through talk of our speaker they may learn and commit themselves to be the agent who can “be bold for change
Ms Anila Gill Shared theme “Be bold for change”. Economic, cultural and political achievements of women, progress towards gender parity has actually slowed in many places. Urgent concrete actions are needed around the world and especially in Pakistan to accelerate women to be agent for the women empowerment.
Special panel discussion was organized consisting of three main panelist including Sobia Butt (Advocate High Court) talked on “Pakistani Law and Women empowerment” , Mehwish Niaz (Youth Empowerment activist) shared about the “how youth can be the change agent for women development” and Ms. Zillay Mariyam Corporate Liaison officer Waste buster shared “Role of Women in conserving nature”.
Women participant in an interactive way participated in the discussion and it has been concluded from the discussion that the Women’s are closely lined with environment through little act we women can contribute more to address Climate Change. we need to build their capacities and hidden skills through different awareness sessions and trainings. We need to fill gaps and hindering issues through recognizing our capacities to fill the gaps between the proper implementation of law and policies. We need to stimulated ideology of women to make them sensitize toward their rights and role.
Ms. Fidrous Kamran read a poem which portray different phase of women and her struggle to be bold for change.
Mr. Amjad Gulzar National Executive Director Caritas Pakistan said “we need to empower women through education and provide them chances so we can celebrate the real meaning of this day in future”.
In the end of the ceremony women participants designed and shared special resolution to fill the gaps hinder women growth and development”
