Emergency Response Team (ERT) Caritas Pakistan Orientation & Meeting

 

Caritas Pakistan organized its third EmergencyResponse Team Orientation and Meeting from July 31 – August 1, 2018 at Caritas Pakistan National Secretariat in which fifteen participants of diocesan unit, two executive secretaries, Mr. Amjad Gulzar (Executive Director) along with CPNS staff attended the training. The training was facilitated by Mr. Nadeem Yousaf. The foremost purpose was to strengthen the
humanitarian response of Caritas Pakistan.

“I appreciate Caritas Pakistan for organizing such trainings. ERT existed before but it is activated today and I feel pleasure that there are two new people between us and people have willingly nominated themselves in the specialized sectors”, said by Mr. Samuel Clement Executive Secretary of Caritas Pakistan Multan

Two days consultation includes; overview of emergency response team, specific objective of ERT, planning, implementing, monitoring, reporting on and closing an immediate Rapid Response/emergency program. It also covered the priority sectors need assessment and fact finding/preparedness, logistics, relief phase distribution, shelter, WASH, health, nutrition/food security/livelihood, CI Toolkit and response operation.

The meeting concluded with the formation of WASH and Shelter working committees, and action plan on Monsoon 2018 with the engagement of ERT.

“Today we are here to invest our time in learning the regional response mechanism system, database and CI Toolkit of emergency response. I hope that all ERT members will perform your duties with will and commitment to review and implement strategically and professionally to the emergency response,”
said by Mr. Amjad Gulzar.
