Plant for Pakistan program in Gujranwala

Caritas Pakistan Lahore organized “Plant for Pakistan” Tree Plantation program with farmers at village Bhambowali, St. Joseph Parish, Gujranwala on July 30, 2020.

Mr. Amjad Gulzar Executive Director Caritas Pakistan was the Chief Guest of the event in connection with One Million More Tree Plantation Campaign and in collaboration with Punjab Forest Department. Other guests included Rev. Fr. Bernard Emmanuel (Parish Priest), Dr. Muhammad Asghar (Deputy Director – Plant Protection, Agriculture Department), Dr. Hamid (Extension officer – Agriculture Department) and Mr. Ghulam Mustafa (Field Officer – Punjab Forest Department).

Dr. Muhammad Asghar and Dr. Hamid shared about different programs of Agriculture department and how farmers could get benefit from different schemes. Representative of Forest department stressed to plant trees on the border of the farming land and play part to save our mother earth.

Mr. Amjad highlighted the role of Caritas in strengthening coordination between Government and farmers for better harvest. He urged to learn modern agriculture techniques and take maximum benefit from these opportunities. He also emphasized to take care of the planted trees thus contributing towards caring for our common home.

Fr. Bernard Emmanuel joined the guests in planting trees. The program concluded with distribution of 120 trees among farmers. CPL team (Mr. Naeem Naz. Mr. Rafiq Inayat, Mr. Raja Imran, Mr. Javaid Masih, Mr. Obaid) and CPNS team (Jacob Inayat, Mr. Shahid) was also present in this activity.
