12th Children Assembly 2025

The Children’s Assembly is an important initiative of Caritas Pakistan that offers children a safe and respectful space to learn, share their thoughts, and grow with confidence. It aims to support marginalized and out-of-school children through education, participation, and positive values, helping them develop leadership skills and a hopeful outlook for the future.

The 12th Annual Children’s Assembly was held at the Renewal Center, Youhanabad, with participation from children representing CPNS, CPM, CPF, CPL, CPQ, and CPIR.

Mr. Amjad Gulzar, Executive Director of Caritas Pakistan, welcomed all children, executives, teachers, and staff. In his remarks, he shared that the Children’s Assembly began in 2012 to support children who had left school due to different challenges. He explained that Caritas Pakistan not only helps children return to learning but also supports them in building skills and confidence for a better future. He appreciated the support of dioceses and field teams and highlighted the growing number of centers working for children at risk. He concluded with the message that education is the key to national progress.

Ms. Uzma Mariam (CPNS) introduced Caritas Pakistan and explained the purpose of the Children’s Assembly. She shared that the assembly has grown into a nationwide platform where children can speak freely, learn important life skills, and understand their rights. She appreciated the dedication of teachers, staff, and leadership in supporting children’s education and well-being.

Children from different dioceses’ community centers presented joyful Christmas performances. Their songs and presentations shared messages of love, peace, and happiness, reflecting strong preparation and confidence.

A panel discussion on Non-Formal Education (NFE) highlighted the importance of providing learning opportunities to children who are out of school. The speakers discussed simple and practical teaching methods, the role of parents and communities, and the importance of values and discipline. The discussion showed how teamwork between Caritas, families, and communities helps children continue their education.

Children also shared how they celebrate Christmas with prayers, gratitude, new clothes, gifts, and family time. Executive members encouraged the children to stay focused on their studies, work hard, and face challenges with courage.

Sports activities and a rally were organized to promote the message that education leads to progress. Children participated with great enthusiasm, showing teamwork, energy, and joy.

Prizes were distributed by the Chairman, Executive Director, and diocesan Executive Secretaries to appreciate the children’s efforts and talents. The children were encouraged to remain disciplined, continue learning, and build a strong future for themselves.
