Mass Scale Awareness Sessions on Road and Home Safety with School Children

Caritas Pakistan Karachi (CPK) organized Mass Scale Sessions of Road Safety and Home Safety with the students of St. Bernadette School in Bhense Colony, Karachi under “Community based Disaster Risk Management” (CBDRM) Project on October 17, 2019.

Mr. John Rehmat (Program Coordinator CPK) and Mr. Sarfraz Anwar (Project Officer CPK) were the resources persons and facilitated a group of 60 students about the danger of naked electric wire and board, gas leakages, underground water tanks, wrecked walls and roofs regarding home safety with the objective to make participants sensitize and to identify and eliminate risks within the home that can lead to serious injury and even death. The students aware about the important emergency telephone numbers that could help in life threatening situations.

They were further guided about Road Safety with the aim to prepare and equip the road user children with the knowledge, skills and positive attitudes that will enable them to stay safe. The major risks on Road while walking or driving and the traffic rules focusing road safety were highlighted.
Mr. Maqsood Francis (School Principal) appreciated the efforts of Caritas for sensitizing children and said “The awareness about home and road safety is essential to spread as to avoid harmful incidents in life”.
