Gender Training Workshop for Caritas Pakistan Staff

Caritas Pakistan conducted a two-day Gender Training Workshop under the SAFBIN Program to strengthen staff capacity in gender-responsive programming. Facilitated by Dr. Humera Amin, the workshop was attended by 25 staff members from different program areas, including coordinators, field officers, project associates, and teachers.

The training enhanced participants’ understanding of gender concepts, gender equality, and gender mainstreaming in humanitarian and development programs. Sessions covered gender roles, social norms, barriers to participation, access to resources, and practical tools for integrating gender considerations throughout the project cycle. The workshop also strengthened participants’ knowledge of Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH) and promoted respectful workplace behavior.

Using presentations, group discussions, case studies, and practical exercises, the workshop encouraged active participation and knowledge sharing. Participants appreciated the practical nature of the training and expressed their commitment to applying the lessons learned in their work. The workshop concluded by reaffirming Caritas Pakistan’s commitment to gender equality, safeguarding, and inclusive programming for more effective and accountable humanitarian and development interventions.
