  27. Caritas Pakistan Hyderabad successfully planted and distributed 300 tree saplings under “One Million More Tree Plantation” in various villages of District Badin in May, 2023.
  28. Caritas Pakistan Lahore planted 30 Fruit and shaded trees were planted in St. Paul Parish Narowal on July, 2023.
  29. Caritas Pakistan Multan planted 85 mango trees have been planted in 1-acre land. Total 4 acres of land.
  30. Caritas Pakistan Faisalabad distributed 200 plants in different areas of  Faisalabad and District Sahiwal in June, 2023.
  31. In 2023,  Caritas Pakistan Quetta has distributed 2000 tree among several parishes of Quetta diocese.
  32. In January, 2023 Caritas Pakistan Karachi organized ‘ Tree Planting for Interfaith Harmony in St. Patrick Cathedral Garden.

Accomplishment of One Million More Tree Plantation 

Caritas Pakistan celebrated the successful conclusion of its One Million More Tree Plantation Campaign with a vibrant rally on December 10th, 2023, at the Renewal Center in Lahore. Organized by the Caritas Pakistan National Secretariat, the event saw active participation from over 150 dedicated staff members and volunteers! from seven diocesan units.

The bishop conference, featuring prominent figures such as Bishop Benny Travas (Chairman of Caritas), Archbishop Sebastian Shaw (Deputy Chairman of Caritas), Archbishop Joseph Arshad, Bishop Khalid Rehmat, Bishop Samson Shukardin, Bishop Yousaf Sohan, Bishop Indrias Rehmat, Rev. Fr. Danial Taj, Rev. Fr. Sylvester Joseph, Fr. Edward, Fr. Abid Tanveer, Fr. Samson, and Fr. James Castellino, participated in tree planting to mark the campaign’s successful completion. This campaign, which began on November 21st, 2020, and concluded in December 2023, saw the planting of one million trees. Alongside Caritas Pakistan staff and students, the bishops also contributed to creating a memorial wall to commemorate the campaign’s achievement.

Mr. Amjad Gulzar, Executive Director of Caritas Pakistan, remarked, “It is time to celebrate the achievements of the campaign within the set time duration. Many were inspired by this campaign to initiate personal efforts and engage community members in tree planting. The mission will continue under the One Million More Campaign, as Pakistan remains one of the country’s most vulnerable to climate change.
