Easter aid for virus affected families
Caritas Pakistan celebrated the resurrection of Christ by handing over food packages to deserving families in Punjab and Sindh provinces.
Diocesan staff in Karachi Archdiocese distributed Easter gift from Sindh Rangers among 22 including families of daily wagers and widow in Younus Goth Sarjani Town, and Zia Conlony Korangi.
“The package included food hampers per our request. We highly appreciate and thank D.G Ranger Sindh and his officers for their kind concern to deliver the food hampers at the door step of needy families at mid night of Easter. It helped our community in celebrating Easter with joy and happiness together with their families,” said Mansha Noor Executive Secretary Caritas Pakistan Karachi.
The Light Youth Peace Committee of Caritas Pakistan Lahore CPL distributed 50 food packages as Easter Gift among daily wagers of Sialkot. CPL also distributed 20 food packages on Easter Eve at Francisabad area of St. Francis Assisi Parish Gujranwala. Rev. Shakeel Luca Parish priest, catechists and CPL volunteers handed over these food packages along with mask and IEC material on April 11, 2020.
In Hyderabad, Caritas Pakistan distributed Easter Food package among 61 families who lost their livelihood amid lockdown. It was a joint collaboration of Caritas and Kotri Parish. 59 packages were later distributed in the same parish through local contribution.
