Assessment Survey of flood affected villages in Gadap Town
Caritas Pakistan Karachi conducted the rapid need assessment survey of the affected villages of Gadap Town on 13th of August, 2020. Mr. Muhammad Qasim CPK volunteer interviewed the affected families.
Fourth spell of Heavy rainfall with thunderstorm lashed Karachi on August 6-8, 2020. The heavy downpour caused massive gridlocks in the city, adding to the miseries of the commuters. According to the media reports more than 30 people were died in different parts of Karachi.
The Ahsan Raza Dam, built in 2013, was also damaged and flood water entered in different villages of UC 1 Gadap town, district Malir, Karachi. In Gadap, houses (huts) collapsed due to heavy rain. The only road connect with the city was blocked due to land sliding.
People living on hills of Mehar Jabbal were cut off from the city and other villages as well. The stored grocery was damaged by the rain water.
