SAFBIN District Forum Meeting in Gujranwala

Caritas Pakistan Lahore organized a District Forum Meeting under Smallholder Adaptive Farming Project on August 26 at Lords Hotel Gujranwala with representatives of Agriculture Extension, Forest Department, Soil and Water Testing Laboratory, Plant Protection, Water Management and Livestock Department of Gujranwala. Rev. Fr. Bernard Emmanuel (Parish Priest – St. Mark Parish Gujranwala) and Rev. Fr. Rafhan Fayyaz (Parish Priest – St. Joseph Parish Gujranwala) also attended.

Mr. Rafiq Inayat Project Officer shared that the basic purpose of district forum was to build strong relationship between Government departments and smallholder farmers. This forum will help to share ideas, information, opportunities and government schemes for the development of small farmers. All the participants suggested ways to support small farmers.

Mr. Amir Irfan National Coordinator Livelihood Agriculture and Food Security described about Livelihood Agriculture and Food Security Program and background of Smallholder Adaptive Farming Project through a documentary. He added that main purpose of this project is to train small farmers and increase their capacity. He urged the government officials to contribute their constructive role for the project and answered questions of Government officials.
