Caritas Pakistan helps to understand Project Management
Caritas Pakistan conducted a workshop on project designing, writing and reporting at National Secretariat on 19 September in which His Grace Archbishop Sebastian Francis Shaw, Mr. Amjad Gulzar (Executive Director Caritas Pakistan) along with priests, field workers and staff from Caritas Karachi, Faisalabad, Lahore, Hyderabad and Quetta were present. The primary purpose was to refresh the existing knowledge, to make a better plan and improve the skills of project management.
“I think that this vast and enigmatic subject needs to be understood accurately, for I see that there is lack in project designing and writing that is why I prefer to have complete knowledge of this subject,” said His Grace Archbishop Sebastian Francis Shaw.
An overview of project management was given to the participants. Topics discussed in the session were project designing, community profiling, log frame matrix, project proposal and budgeting. To make it more interesting various activities were also conducted. Different formats of various organization and Caritas Pakistan were also shared by Mr. Amer Anwer, Mr. Amir Irfan and Mr. Amjad Gulzar.
“Project success and project failure are parallel. I think we should not avoid the parameters of project failure because this needs to be discussed for future plans. We are here to learn from the past and to plan the future for better understanding about the components for successful projects and for the betterment of target audience and areas which are in dire need,” Mr. Amjad Gulzar (Executive Director Caritas Pakistan).
